It is our pleasure that Prof. Asta Pundziene (Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania and UC Berkeley, CA, USA) will present on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at 12:45 in room RB435 about her research on the topic “Benefiting from Digital Innovations – Data Co-specialization in Multi-sided Platforms”.
Registration is not required and anyone who would like to attend is warmly invited.
ABSTRACT: The limited success of digital healthcare platforms has sparked discussions on how to benefit from digital innovations. Despite a notable surge in the adoption, platform owners struggle to achieve significant returns due to fragmented and inaccessible health data. This research delves into health data co-specialization as a means to benefit from digital innovations in platforms. Through a multiple-case study of global medtech incumbents, we present a FMIC framework for health data cospecialization, comprising three core components: data factor mobility (FM), data integrity (I), and data completeness (C). We propose that medtech incumbent-born platforms can succeed and flourish by cospecializing health data based on these essential components. This study contributes to the platform strategy literature.
